Restate Question

Restating part of the question gives you your topic sentence for your paragraph or drives your thesis for an essay. This provides focus for you the author and for your dear readers.

Evidence 

Cite evidence from the text to support your topic.  Insert a direct quote as evidence from the text or use your own words to paraphrase.

E

Analyze Evidence

Analyze the evidence by using your own words to explain further. Phrases like 'This shows' or 'This indicates' are good sentence starters for your analysis.

Link Conclusion

Link your concluding sentence back to your original topic sentence to wrap up your paragraph or for an essay, Link the summary in your concluding paragraph to the Thesis
