The Cay is dedicated to the "I Have A Dream" speech because it talks about how people can come together no matter whats differnet about any one because Phillip has to trust Timothy because he became blind by looking at the sun.Because Timothy is african -american and Phillip is not, they have different opinions about each othe buu learn to love each other

this was a touching and sad story about how different cultures can come together to survive. the sad parts are also very surprising like the part where philip loses his vision and where timothy dies and where the hurricane comes.
