Journeys Book Club - November Novel

Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott - Odell
Picture
This month our novel takes us on a journey to San Nicolas - a remote island off the California Coast. This is a tale of survival of a brave young girl who somehow was left behind when the rest of her Indian tribe was taken by ship to the mainland. The island's only inhabitant is Karana and of course the blue dolphins that frolic in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. As we celebrate Native American Heritage month in the month of November, this book reminds us of the courageous spirit of Native Americans and Canadians both past and present.
