Our prayers are with the families who were recently affected by the deadly tornadoes that ravaged  homes and lives in the Southwest.

The book, Twisters pictured here is a combination of realistic fiction and expository writing. The text is an excellent way for readers to get a better understanding of tornadic activity.

I really like this book because I learned facts I didn't even know about
tornadoes! Also, if I had to rate this book I'd rate it 5 stars. The storm cellar picture was weird until I found out it hadn't been buried yet. The different types of tornado pictures were really cool!

Hi my name is Nathan. I think the book was ok. What I didn't like was that she could have used some different similes, but overall the similes where pretty good. I also liked that she combined an expository text with a realistic fiction text. I think she did a good job on describing the details. I'd rate it a eight and a half out of ten because there are small details she could work on.

I love this book! but it is a little sad because people getting caught in tornados. but at least some people survive it that's one good thing. but the worst part is it damages homes and really scary. I love rain but not thunder because any thing can happen but its only one good thing about lightning it gives electricity I guess its more good things about it the bad thing about is it electrocutes things. Some people some people love tornados I wonder why some people hate it the people that hate it want to kill Thierself when it comes around

Hi my name Mariah I love this book about twisters because it gives me good facts that it is a scale to f0 to f5 and f5 hit Oklahoma and killed a lot of people and it was so sad oh and I forgot that a twisters can go as fast as a person walking and it can go 300 miles to 200 miles and I will also want to be a storm chaser because I love weather.

I really enjoyed reading the book!! At first it starts off with a fictional story, but then it becomes non-fictional text. It really amazed me how the tornado carried roses and water but not the vase!! Also I thought the baby being saved was amazing!! I didn't know that tornadoes could be as slow as a walking person! I really recommend the book.

Hello. My name is christopher. I like the book a lot. It tells you information about twisters ( Tornadoes ) and also supplies you with a storyline about tornadoes. Also the facts about the pickle jar being carried miles with it no breaking and the baby being thrown a few miles and set down gently we're also pretty cool. Just to add in also, she makes nice use of her metaphors and her similes. :D

hi my name is Ahmad.I liked this book because it has a good combination of realistic ficton and science ficton . I think this book is a little under age limit I would say the limit should be 6-10. I thought that if some one where to touch a tornado the would be riped to shreds but the baby went in a tornado and didn't even wake up.Over all I would give this book an 8 out of 10.

What I liked about this book is how the author wrote the book. She made really great similes and metaphors. I also liked how she put half of the book fictional and the other half expository writing. Three interesting facts was how twisters can change color , carry a baby and set it safely miles away and how a jar of pickle did not shatter into pieces!

Twister is a book with expository and fictional text. The fictional part is about a man who gets stuck in a twister. The expository talks about different types of tornados and weird facts.three interesting facts are a baby sleeping and the tornado picked it up and dropped the baby far away without it waking up.the second one is it rained frogs. The third a jar of pickles was in a tornado then was set down and didn't brake

I think the book was great. I liked how the author discribed the tornado such as how it looked and how it moved. I also liked what the author put pictures of to show how the things looked in the story. What I didn't like was that the author could have shown Rob and Barney the dog go into the shelter of the place they hid in. It is very sad that 689 people were killed by the tornado in Oklahoma but at least some might have survived.

I think it was a really good book. But it is sad that many people died. It was strange that the tornado picked up a tow truck and smashed it to pieces and picked up a baby and put it safely on the ground.

Awesome Book. This is one of the first books I've read that combines realistic fiction and expository text. I like how this book gives you information and at the same time gives you a story. I've made a text to world connection on this book by relating it to the F5 tornado in Moore,Oklahoma. For example the book talks about the specific levels of tornados and F5s leaves very few things standing. This is excactly how Moore,Oklahoma looked like after a F5 tornado touched down a week ago. So I hope you're praying for them after a F5 tornado. Did you also know that it is really possible for it to rain frog. I also learned that when tornados form over water they're called waterspouts and the tallest one was one mile high. This book is educational and easy for young ones. Correction for my comment, I meant to say frogs not frog.it appears to rain frogs because frogs are carried up and fall when the tornado passes :)

I think this book is actually really interesting a lot of the facts in the book I probably never would have known if i hadn't read it. The weirdest fact on tornadoes to me is that they can be so many different sizes and even different colors! Other facts about tornadoes continue to amaze me, like the fact that one picked up a baby and then sat it back down on the ground without the baby even waking up, how can a tornado be so violent and yet so careful? It is also a little funny to me that a tornado picked up frogs and then dropped them again,so it was literally raining frogs in England. Tornadoes are quite mysterious when it comes to weather.

The book Twisters is a really nice book because it gives details
about twisters. I really liked this book because I love how the
author put the fiction story before the non-fiction details.
That's why I like it sooooooo much!

I really liked the book Twisters! It was very weird that the tornado destroyed Rob's farm but it didn't destroy the neighbor's house. It is also very weird that once a tornado picked up a baby and didn't even wake up the baby.Another weird fact was that a tornado once picked up a jar of pickles without even breaking the jar.I never knew that tornados con be in so many colors and sizes.I loved this book! Also Kate Hayden put lots of similies and metaphors.

The book, "Twisters" was a good non-fiction/fictional text.
The fiction part is about a man who has experienced a Twister/Tornado.
Now to the non-fiction part.
This part of the story had great facts on how Twisters/Tornadoes act in their mysterious ways.I will tell the reader about just three facts that caught my eye.
My first fact that caught my eye was how the Twister/Tornado picked up the baby and then let him down gently like it had feelings.
Second fact that caught my eye was how the Twister/Tornado lifted a man's birth certificate and dropped it in another garden. It destroys buildings and other big items but not the slip of paper.
The third and final fact that caught my eye was how the Twister/Tornado took up a jar of pickles and traveled miles with it and didn't damage it.
This book was truly an interesting book with it's facts on how Twisters act.
(Yes I did it before 9:00p.m ☺

The book Twisters was a great book, but some words that I did not know confused me and I could not understand. But, it was still a great book. Looking at the pictures and reading the book was the best part. I just liked the book. In fact, I loved the book.

The book Twisters was a teachable book. I learned tornado's picked up a baby once and set it down without waking it up. I also learned that tornado's can wreck someone's house but leave the neighbor's house perfectly fine. I also learned that a farmer saw little tornado's inside of a giant one. This book was really interesting.

I liked this book in many ways, like how the tornados change colors, how it carried a baby and then put it down safely with out waking it up, and how tornados are classified on there wind speed.
some thing I did not like was how the book (myself think)ended early
the thing I liked best was the similes and metaphors.

the book twisters was very interesting it was both expository and fictional. The fictional part was about a man who has had a normal day but all of a sudden a twister appeared. Because he lived in tornado alley he was already prepared all he had to do was go into his cellar. I learned that sometimes a tornado can completely wipe out one spot and leave the one next to it un touched. I also learned that there are times a tornado could pickup something fragile like a baby and put it down completely unharmed. In the fictional story the man had said he saw tiny tornados inside the big tornado. Over all I thought it was a great book.

I liked the book it taught me new things about twisters like how they rate the twisters from F0-F5, and how twisters pick up some things and don't pick up other things like flowers and vases. I like how it showed facts on the side abut twisters.

I liked this book because of all the strange facts it has, like a tornado
picking up a baby put down gently, and stuff like the Fujita scale.I think the story was real.
